FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Invisible Disabilities Association Honors David Geras with 2015 Founders Award
David Geras is a leader in Denver home healthcare and supports Alzheimer’s research
(Denver, CO) The Invisible Disabilities Association (IDA) has announced the recipients of the 2015 IDA Awards, and David Geras, CEO of GoldLeaf HomeCare, has been selected for the Founders Award for his dedication to IDA and his quality home care services in Denver. Since 2008, the Invisible Disabilities Association has recognized individuals and organizations making a difference for patients and caregivers facing illness, pain and disabilities.
After a prosperous 25 year career in global technology sales, marketing and business development management positions, working for industry leaders like IBM,BMC, Sun Microsystems, Sony and NEC, David decided to establish a home health services company to better meet the needs of America’s aging population.
David believes seniors deserve a higher level of home healthcare than what was being delivered. David’s mother had Alzheimer’s, so his new career is very important to him on a personal level.
GoldLeaf HomeCare provides medical and non-medical in-home care services for people of all ages. Services include, but are not limited to companionship, transportation, homemaker assistance, personal care, skilled nursing, medication management, therapies, and wound care.
In his spare time, David is very philanthropic, advising IDA and serving on boards for Bessie’s Hope and the Emily Griffith Technical School Foundation.
“It’s very humbling to receive this award. Chronic illnesses and disabilities are not always visible. It’s important to raise public awareness and develop a deeper understanding and compassion for people who live with debilitating conditions,” says David.
“As I accept this award, I would like to shed light on the groundbreaking Alzheimer’s disease (another invisible disability) research being conducted here locally at the University of Colorado. It’s important that the community is aware of significant progress being made,” says David.
