Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado
For more than 25 years, the Alzheimer’s Association Colorado Chapter has lead the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders by increasing the understanding of dementia and its impact on family and community, providing information and support for those affected, and promoting the advancement of research.

CU School of Medicine Department of Neurology
The Department of Neurology is part of the University of Colorado | Anschutz Medical Campus and is one of the largest Academic Medical Centers between Chicago and the West Coast. The School of Medicine is in the top 25 schools nationally in NIH funding and includes numerous nationally recognized affiliated hospitals. The Department is composed of over 50 primary faculty members whose clinical and research interests and activities encompass virtually all aspects of neurology. Faculty are integrated into functional units including Behavioral Neurology, Cerebrovascular Diseases, Epilepsy and Sleep Disorders, Headache, Infectious Disease, Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromuscular Disorders, Neuro-oncology, and Neuro-ophthalmology each of which strives to provide cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic services to .patients and families dealing with neurological disease.

Dr. Huntington Potter, PhD
Huntington Potter, PhD is an internationally-recognized pioneer in defining cellular mechanisms shared by patients with Alzheimer’s disease and Down Syndrome. He is currently leading the research effort to find effective treatments for both Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease at the Anschutz Medical Campus and the Linda Cyrnic institute for Down Syndrome. He and his colleagues are launching a clinical trial on a known drug (Leukine) to determine its safety with a small group of people with early to moderate Alzheimer’s disease. Based on these results, the team looks forward to staring a large-scale trial of the same drug later this year. In addition to his research, he and his colleagues are developing a comprehensive Alzheimer’s Disease Research and Clinical Center that will serve the people and families afflicted by this disease from around the greater Rocky Mountain region.

Alzheimer’s Disease Education & Referral Center
The U.S. Congress created the Alzheimer’s Disease Education and Referral (ADEAR) Center in 1990 to “compile, archive, and disseminate information concerning Alzheimer’s disease” for health professionals, people with AD and their families, and the public. The NIA conducts and supports research about health issues for older people, and is the primary Federal agency for Alzheimer’s disease research.
